John Hallifax Musical Bracket Clock, London, mid-18th century, ebonized sarcophagus top brass-trimmed case with pierced gilt circular sound frets on the side, composite brass dial with moon phase in the arch, matted center, silvered roman numeral chapter ring with quarter- and half-hour markings, calendar and false pendulum apertures, name boss engraved "John Hallifax/London," and chime/silent and tune-selection subsidiary silvered dials, eight-day, fusee, time, strike, and musical movement on a nest of eight bells with fourteen hammers playing hourly and on command with fully engraved back plate and verge escapement, ht. 24 in.
