Walter H. Durfee Patent Timepiece or "Banjo" Clock, for Tiffany & Co., New York, convex roman numeral painted iron dial marked "Tiffany & Co. New York," brass side arms flanking the mahogany case with lower carved pedestal, reverse-painted tablets, lower glass depicting Mount Vernon, eight-day, time-only, weight-powered movement with deadbeat escapement, maintaining power, Geneva stop, and front plate stamped "Walter H. Durfee, Providence," ht. 39 in.
Note: Movement and rear of pendulum stamped 6132, weight marked "Walter H. Durfee./Providence." Original reverse painted tablets signed "Daniel J. Steele" of Boston. A copy of the NAWCC Bulletin from December 1981 is included in the lot.
