Gawen Brown Mahogany Tall Clock, Boston, c. 1760, pagoda-top case with freestanding turned columns at each corner of the hood, composite brass dial with silvered name boss in the arch reading "Gawen Brown/Boston," applied brass spandrels, silvered roman numeral chapter ring, matted center with sunk seconds, and calendar aperture, and blued-steel hands, scalloped-top full-length waist door above the central drop stepped molded base, eight-day time and hour-strike movement regulated by a strap-brass pendulum and two lead weights, ht. 83 1/2 in.
Provenance: Descended in a South Shore, Massachusetts, family.
