Description:

Two Framed Vermont Needlework Samplers, 19th century, stitched in silk on a linen background with lines of alphabet and text, the larger signed "E E Eaton," the other "Polly Flag Smith Sudbury, Vermont August 29th 1816," ht. to 8, wd. to 13 in.

Note: According to a note on the back of the larger sampler, it was made by Elizabeth Eaton of Woodstock, Vermont.
