Description:

Mocha Yellow-body Half-pint Mug, England, c. 1835, banded in white slip with black mocha "trees" and undergrowth below a herringbone rouletted band covered with blue slip, strap handle with foliate terminals, (manufacturing imperfection), ht. 3 3/4 in.

Note: There is an area of slip loss that occurred prior to the piece being glazed. This was likely a second or even a third quality mug that was still marketed to America regardless of the flaws.
