Armorial Export Porcelain Tea/Coffee Service, China, early 19th century, a tea/coffeepot with side mounted handle, a covered cream jug, five saucers, four handled cups, and one teacup, all decorated with floral sprays red and gilt border and an armorial crest composed intertwined initials within a shield framed by a blue and gold ribbon, ht. to 8 1/2 in.

Literature: This lot, and others from the same collection, are illustrated and contextualized in Imagining Ichabod: My Journey Into 18th-Century America Through History, Food, and a Georgian House, by Paula Bennett (Bauer and Dean: New York, 2016). Imagining Ichabod is described as a "warm, personal account of life in an eighteenth-century house and the search for its first inhabitants...
