Juanita Judy Vitousek (American, 1892-1988)

Pali View/A Hawaiian Landscape. Titled, signed and dated ".../J. Vitousek '26" in pencil on the reverse, signed "VITOUSEK" in pencil on the mat l.r. Watercolor on paper, sight size 15 x 22 5/8 in., framed. Condition: Pale foxing, scattered small spots or accretions, affixed loosely to back mat with gummed labels at intervals along the perimeter of the recto.

Also inscribed with the artist's name and titled "Waenae Bay" on the frame backing cardboard. Water stain to the bottom of the mat, which does not affect the watercolor. Frame will surface losses which may be due to moisture exposure.

Please note that this watercolor was removed from the frame during preview because it had come loose from the mat. It is currently displayed in a print sleeve. The watercolor had been held in place against the back mat with a few gummed labels and the adhesive on the labels had dried out and could no longer hold the paper in place.
