Orson Byron Lowell (American, 1871-1956)

The Producer. Signed "Orson Lowell" l.l., titled and dated "...1916" on an exhibition label affixed to the frame backing paper. Pen and ink on paper, sight size 16 x 16 in., framed. Condition: Creasing, soiling, not examined out of frame.

Provenance: The collection of Frederic and Jean Sharf, Massachusetts and Florida.

N.B. The exhibition label on the frame backing paper indicates that this drawing, published in Everyone's magazine, May 1916, depicts a producer slinking away from the theater with his belongings carried by his chauffeur and servant.
