If George had only worn his tuxedo..." Signed "Orson Lowell" l.r., identified and dated "...1909" on an exhibition label affixed to the frame backing paper. Pen and ink on paper, sight size 21 5/8 x 21 3/4 in., framed. Condition: Puncture to l.l. corner, small vertical crease to u.c. edge, staining, toning, not examined out of frame.
Provenance: The collection of Frederic and Jean Sharf, Massachusetts and Florida.
Exhibitions: The Art Institute of Chicago, Original Drawings by Orson Lowell, August 18-October 18, 1911.
N.B. The exhibition label affixed to the frame backing paper indicates that this drawing was published in LIFE magazine, November 18, 1909.
