Painting of a Prince and a Lady on a Terrace, India, Rajasthan, Mewar, 18th century, ink, opaque color and gold on wasli, depicting an erotic scene with lovers on a bed, refreshments and an attendant to one side, inside painted line borders, framed and glazed, sight size 9 3/4 x 6 in.
Provenance: Purchased in the U.S. in 1972 and descended in the Steig family.

Not examined out of frame, areas of paint and gilt loss, particularly at right side of pavilion and some of gilt details.
