Painting of Varari Ragini from a Ragamala Series, India, Rajasthan, Bundi, late 18th century, ink, opaque color and gold on wasli depicting lovers on a terrace, the woman fanning the man with a fly whisk while hiding her face in her veil, with painted floral pattern and line borders, framed and glazed, sight size 10 3/8 x 7 in.
Provenance: Purchased in the U.S. in 1972 and descended in the Steig family.

Not examined out of frame, possibly backed, some areas with paint and gilt loss.
