Gandharan Stucco Bodhisattva Head, Kushan, possibly 4th/5th century, the well carved face with heavy lidded eyes and full lips, the elaborate hair held together with an intricate ushnisha, ht. 7 in.
Provenance: Purchased in Karachi in the 1960s by an Edward Durell Stone architect, then by descent to the present owner.
