Description:

New England Patent Timepiece or "Banjo" Clock, c. 1805, the mahogany case with painted arabic roman numeral dial within a brass bezel, reverse-painted glasses, the lower with geometric pattern in pink, white, and gold marked "S. Willard's Patent," brass side ornaments, eight-day timepiece with "T-bridge," fillister-head screws for case attachment, step train and dead-beat escapement all regulated by a brass-faced pendulum bob, ht. 33 1/2 in.
