Apollo 16, Prime Crew and Pre-flight, Seven Photographs, Early 1972. Color and black-and-white 8 x 10 in. photographs including prime crew Thomas Mattingly, John Young, and Charles Duke in their spacesuits for the official portrait, red lettering on recto: S-72-16660, purple NASA caption, round logo, and "A Kodak Paper" on verso; the Apollo 16 emblem; a close-up color photograph of the SIM on the Command Service Module, red lettering on recto: S-71-2250-X; black-and-white photograph of the lunar landing site Descartes overlaid with LRV traverse routes and the nicknames of features, S-72-147-V; [and] three artists' renderings of the Descartes landing site.
