Provenance: Acquired by the consignor's father during his employment with the Alco Corporation.
N.B. This painting was an illustration for an advertisement of American Locomotive's (Alco) Diesel-Electric trains that appeared in The Saturday Evening Post's November 30, 1946, issue. The page on which the advertisement appears accompanies the lot.

There is a small area of flaking with paint loss at lower right, to the left of the signature. There is unobtrusive craquelure. No further condition issues to report.
