Signed "W LESTER STEVENS" l.r., titled on labels from Vose Galleries of Boston and Comenos Fine Arts, Boston, affixed to the frame backing, with a label from Newcomb-Macklin Picture Frame Makers, New York, affixed to the back of the frame.

Condition: Retouch, craquelure.

Newcomb Macklin frame with label. Framed dimensions: 30 1/2 x 36 1/2 in.
Craquelure is fine and stable. Retouch primarily to the top edge of the canvas, mainly along the upper left edge, continuing into the center, with touches to the tops of the masts and sails.
There is a spot on the right upper center on the halyards that in photos might at first be read as a loss, but does not fluoresce and shows the artist's brushwork and impasto in the beige center as well as the white area. Please see condition photos for greater detail.
