Female Nude, c. 1950. Inscribed "Mildred Lynes/GPL's sister-in-law" in pencil on the verso, artist's New York studio stamp on the verso, "Collection of Paul Cadmus" stamp on the verso, identified (incorrectly as George P. Lyons) on a label from Midtown Galleries, New York, affixed to the backing. Toned gelatin silver print, image/sheet size 9 1/2 x 7 1/2 in. (24.0 x 19.0 cm),framed.
Condition: Subtle handling crimp u.c., sheet curling slightly, minor soiling to verso.
Provenance: A Connecticut estate.
N.B. The subject is identified as Marguerite Cato in David Leddick, George Platt Lynes (Cologne and New York: Taschen, 2000).
