Description:

Parcel-gilt Tulip-form Beaker, Hungary, c. 1730-40, Georgius Olescher Jr., maker, with slightly flared rim and alternating panels of strapwork, foliate sprays, and baskets of fruit, ht. 7 in., approx. 11.3 troy oz.

N.B. A similar cup is in the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York from the Nicholas M. Salgo Collection, accession number: 2010.110.56.

Repaired splits to foot (unobtrusive). Scattered age-typical abrasions and nicks. Areas of loss to gilding. Foot rim bent slightly (wobbles).
