Condition: Lined, retouch, paint losses, abrasions and skinning, craquelure, surface grime.

Canvas has an old lining. Craquelure is prominent especially on the face but stable. Cluster of small losses, possibly old punctures prior to lining, at center left edge with retouch to partially cover. Scattered abrasions and small paint losses, the major area being a vertical abrasion at the lower center. Retouch as follows: in the hair above the ear an area of several horizontal strokes measuring 3 x 1 1/2 inches; over her proper left eye an area measuring 1 x 1/2 inch; in the background along the edge of her forehead, eye, and cheek an area measuring 5 x 3 inches with some evidence of skinning in that location; above her white sleeve on the left an area measuring 2 x 1 inch; a few spots on her neck and in the dark area between her forearms.
Framed dimensions are 33 x 28 1/4 in.
