Antique Garnet Jewelry Suite, 19th century, comprising a necklace, bracelet, brooch, and hair comb, in gilt-silver and gold mounts, lg. 16 1/4, 7 1/2, 2 1/8, 3 5/8 in., boxed.
Note: This suite belonged to Anna Hasslocher Ehret, born December 22, 1844, in Baden, Germany; died October 28, 1899, in Summit, New Jersey, of chronic bronchitis. She was the wife of prominent beer brewer George Ehret, who established The Hell Gate Brewery in 1866 in New York City. It became one of the largest breweries in the nation and in 1900 produced over 600,000 barrels. They were married in 1865.
