Mende Bundu Helmet Mask, from the Sante society, fat rolls on the neck above a heavily pierced rim support the triangular face with downturned mouth, narrow nose, and crescent cutout eyes, all below an open forehead surmounted by an elaborate coiffure with a cylindrical bundle atop, overall black patina, ht. 14 1/2 in.
