Veracruz Polychrome Incensario, Late Classic, c. 550-950 AD, the brazier of hollow slightly waisted form, painted on the exterior in chalky blue-gray and yellow with two registers of geometric motifs, molded on one side with a large symbolic butterfly-shaped bow, with thick red central knot, the lip cut away in broad scallops, dia. 14 1/2, ht. 11 1/2 in.
