Description:

Upper Great Lakes Beaded Bag, mid to late 19th century, black or dark indigo blue stroud cloth bag, with polished cotton interior lining, smaller white beads outline the entire edge front and back, front and back beaded in a multicolored floral pattern over most of the surface, below the bag is a multicolored beaded panel, with multiple woolen tabs below, (minor fringe bead loss),17 x 7 1/2 in.

Provenance: Deaccessioned from the Northampton County Historical & Genealogical Society, Easton, Pennsylvania.

One of the tassels has separated from the beaded panel. There are some missing white beads around the edge of both panels, and some white bead edging is lost from the outer edge. Some silk fabric loss around the outer edge. Handle frayed in one place
