Description:

Plains Beaded Hide Possible Bag, Lakota, fourth quarter 19th century, beaded on the front, sides, and flap with multicolored geometric designs done in glass seed beads, tin cone and horsehair danglers, (some tin cone danglers loose within the bag),13 x 19 in.

Provenance: Deaccessioned from the Northampton County Historical & Genealogical Society, Easton, Pennsylvania; from the collection of William M. Davis.
Estimate $1,200-1,800

Hide is mostly pliable. Some of the tin cones have come off, and are in the bag. A stain is on one top edge of the bag that has slightly hardened the hide. One bead strand lost from one edge panel. One small hole in the back.
