Ibo Maiden Spirit Helmet Mask, Agbogho Mmuo, the hollowed-out helmet form pierced around the rim for attachment of a cloth head covering, the narrow angular face with rounded chin and open mouth, sharp aquiline nose framed by small oval slit eyes and ears pierced through, raised black eyebrows with scarification between, and wearing an elaborate single crested openwork headdress decorated with glass, wrapped wire, and metal, with four combs protruding from the elaborate coiffure, encrusted dark brown patina, ht. 19 in.
