Attributed to Thomas Ball (American, 1819-1911)
Standing Figure, Thought to be Young Abraham Lincoln. Unmarked, attributed on a typed label and on a modern presentation plaque, both affixed to the base, and on a handwritten label on the underside. Bronze with brown patina, height 16 in. Condition: Minor wear to the patina, oxidation or similar along the inside edge of the lower right coat sleeve, small depression in the forehead of the figure which may be original, adhesive residue and cellophane tape on the base, dust and dirt to the interstices.
N.B. The notes on the base and underside state that this work was done by Thomas Ball in Florence in 1863. The typed label on the base duplicates the information on the handwritten label on the underside.
