Waiting by the Hearth. Initialed "A.B.F." l.l., inscribed "Squirrel Inn/Frank R. Stockton" on the frame backing board, titled and described on an unattributed card affixed to the frame backing paper. Ink wash on paper/board, sight size 12 1/4 x 8 5/8 in., framed. Condition: Not examined out of frame.
N.B. The handwritten card on the back of the frame states that this picture is an illustration for "The Squirrel Inn" by Frank R. Stocktonn which appeared in The Century Magazine, August 1891, vol. xx, chapter xviii, page 515.

Waiting by the Hearth, sight size 12 1/4 x 8 5/8 in., framed dimensions 21 3/4 x 16 3/4 in. The note on an index card taped to the frame backing paper states that this picture is an illustration in "The Squirrel Inn" by Frank R. Stockton, from The Century Illustrated Monthy Magazine, August 1891, Vol. XX, Chapeter XVIII, Page 515.
Flash, sight size 7 1/2 x 7 in., framed dimensions 14 1/2 x 14 in. The illustration appears in Harper's New Monthly Magazine, October 1882, vol LXV, #389, pp. 665-667, illustrating a poem about the life of a horse named Flash. A copy of pages 666-667 are affixed to the frame backing paper, and the illustration appears on page 667.
