First American edition, first edition in English, octavo, rare, subtitle on frontispiece: "How the Americans bought the North Pole and planned to change the axis of the earth, making the arctic regions bloom, by the explosion of a stupendous cannon," publisher's ads at end; bound in full publisher's dark green cloth, gilt title stamped on spine, yellow floral endpapers, corners, head and tail bumped, pages brittle, ffep and frontis detached, single minor wormhole entering at fore-edge, 7 x 4 3/4 in.
