Red Cross "Penny" Fundraising Quilt, London, Ohio, 1918, designed with ninety-six red crosses surrounding a larger cross in the center on a white ground, surrounded on all four borders by over one thousand inked names of supporters and the names of 254 members of Company C of the 166th U.S. Infantry, 102 x 92 in.
Note: This quilt comes from a small genre of quilts made from 1914-1919, a number of which were displayed in an exhibit in 2016 titled The Eleventh Hour: Quilts of World War I, at the National Quilt Museum in Paducah, Kentucky. The 166th Infantry's Company C was one of the most decorated units in the war.

Few small stains on the front, mostly tiny; the largest about 1/2 in. The back has some subtle stains.
