Gray-painted Glazed Cupboard, possibly Vermont, early 19th century, molded cornice above two fifteen-light cupboard doors opening to shelves, on projecting lower half of paneled cupboard doors and cutout skirt, ht. 88, wd. 61 1/2, dp. 16 1/2 in.
Provenance: According to a "letter of provenance" written in 1982 by the company that arranged the estate sale for a Mr. Charles Swift of Vermont (where it was acquired by the current owner),this cupboard was located in the office of Mr. Charles Swift, which was in the carriage house on the Swift property. Mr. Swift, according to a handwritten note on the letter, was related to a member of the Rogers Rangers, a British military force in colonial America.
