Gridley, Charlestown, Massachusetts, c. 1800, the rectangular folding top with ovolo corners and crossbanded edge above a conforming apron inlaid with ovals and crossbanding, on four square tapering legs, with printed cabinetmaker's label behind the swing leg, ht. 29, wd. 36, dp. 17 3/4 in.

Provenance: The estate of John Morse, Jr. (1849-1936),a Harvard-educated Boston lawyer and author of several presidential biographies.
