Winchester Model 1873 Saddle Ring Carbine with Wells Fargo Provenance and Strong Box, c. 1882, serial number 105176A, .44-40, walnut stock with a steel butt plate, steel receiver marked on the left side "WF & Co Ex.," round barrel marked lightly on the top "WINCHESTER'S-REPEATING ARMS . NEW VAVEN. CT./KING'S-IMPROVEMENT-PATENTED-MARCH 29, 1866, OCTOBER 16, 1860," with provenance paper from Railway Express Company dated 1965, and a painted tin box marked on the top "WELLS FARGO & CO. EXPRESS," barrel lg. 20, overall lg. 39 in.
