Description:

British Pattern 1730 Long Land Service Musket, c. 1728, .78 caliber, lock with double line border, engraved behind the cock "Es COLE/1728," and crown over "GR" with crown broad arrow government ownership mark below the pan; walnut stock with relief carving around the lock, sideplate, breechplug tang, storekeeper's mark on the right side of the butt and inspector's mark behind the trigger guard; barrel with ordnance view and proof marks and engraved "COLL DALLWAYS REGT No VIII," brass furniture proper for pattern, thumb plate engraved "Co VIII/No 20," sling swivels intact, barrel lg. 46, overall lg. 62 in.

Iron surfaces with minor toning, all markings clear and distinct, brass shows evidence of minor oxidation, stock with dings and dents, apparent splice at entry pipe, rammer is a replacement.
