Jennens & Bettridge Papier-mache Tray, England, mid-19th century, oval form with polychrome decoration depicting George IV's "Nubian Giraffe," impressed mark "JENNENS & BETTRIDGE 2ND," lg. 29 3/4 in.
Note: Based on the painting by Jacques-Laurnet Agasse (Royal Collections). The giraffe calf was a gift from the Pasha of Egypt and arrived at Windsor Castle in 1827.
