KLM Douglas DC8 Large Aircraft Cutaway Model, Raise Up, Rotterdam, Holland, 1960s, cutaway to reveal the interior compartment fitted with small figural passengers, the body with KLM logo and PH-DCJ on wings, label underneath reads "Manufactured by Raise Up, Rotterdam Holland, World Sales Agents The N. Deflippers Company Plane Model Division New York, N.Y.," ht. 14, lg. 70, wd. 67 1/2 in.

Note: KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, legally Koninklijke Luchtvaart Maatschappij N.V., is the flag carrier airline of the Netherlands. Founded in 1919, KLM is the oldest airline in the world still operating under its original name. Raise Up, who created this cutaway model, specialized in full-metal commercial airline models, which were made at different scales. Their clients included KLM, for which they produced models of their Lockheed Electra, Super Constellation, DC-8, and Vickers Viscount aircraft. The company ceased to operate under that name in 1964.
