Heller & Brightly Alignment or Tunnel Transit, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, lacquered brass instrument with 5 1/2-in. damascened engraved dial marked in script "Heller & Brightly/Makers/Philada/5250," with eight-point line rose, dual verniers and spirit levels, tapered columns to accept the 16-in. lg. scope, with sunshades and tripod mount, all in its original fitted mahogany case with label.
Note: Records indicate "No. 5295 Made 1879-1880, sold to Southern Railroad 9/1/1905, returned and remained at shop until it closed in 1946."
