Blydenburgh & Giles Surveyor's Compass, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, c. 1842, lacquered brass instrument with a large 7-in. dia. engraved brass dial marked "Blydenburgh & Giles/Makers/Philad," eight-point line rose with fleur-de-lis representing north, blued-steel needle, dual bubble levels and outkeeper located on the arms, lg. 16 in.
