Aaron Willard Federal Painted and Stencil-decorated "Bride's" Shelf Clock, Boston, c. 1815, central gilt and stenciled finial above the gilded rope-molded frames enclosing the reverse-painted tablet inscribed "Aaron Willard, Boston" within an oval cartouche on a stenciled ground with lyre spandrels over the roman numeral iron dish dial, lower section with gilded rope-molding frames enclosing the original looking glass above the stencil-decorated pillow molding and gilded ball feet, eight-day timepiece with iron weight and 12-in. pendulum, ht. 33 1/2 in.
Note: These white painted clocks are rare variants of "dish" dial glass-front shelf clocks.
