14kt Gold Gem-set Snake Necklace, Eric de Kolb, c. 1970s, with green hardstone eyes, sapphire melee accents, completed by articulated scale links, 128.7 dwt, lg. 17 1/4 in., signed.

Note: Eric de Kolb (March 10, 1916-April 14, 2001) was born in Vienna to an aristocratic family. De Kolb was an artist, sculptor, fashion designer, jewelry designer, and designer of commercial packaging. He is the original creator of the Teddy Bear honey dispenser and footie pajamas with booties and snap opening for diaper change. His jewelry and sculpture shows Persian, Pre-Columbian, Greek, and Etruscan influences from examples in his own collection. His work was represented in several New York City galleries, and his ancient art replica jewelry was retailed by Bonwit Teller.
