Cast Bronze Ritual Food Yu Vessel, China, Shang dynasty, Anyang-style, deep bowl-shape with a wide mouth, resting on a splayed stem foot, decorated with a frieze of diamond and boss design below a geometric band with three animal masks, the foot with three taotie masks in bas-relief, ht. 6 3/8, dia. 9 1/2 in.
