Pair of Paint-decorated Leather Fire Buckets, John Fenno, Boston, Massachusetts, early 19th century, with firefighting scenes painted on both sides within a scroll frame, with banners reading "WILLIAM THURSTON," "Nil Desperandum," and "SALVATOR DIVITIARUM," buckets numbered 1 and 2, each bucket stamped twice "J.FENNO" in a sunken cartouche adjacent to the seam, later names and dates painted on the sides, ht. 12 3/4, dia. 9 in.
