August Americana

Stack of Five Native American Polychrome and Stamp-decorated Splint Baskets, late 19th century, four covered, the smallest open and with two bentwood handles, stack ht. approx. 56 in.

These baskets are largely in very good condition. The color is bright throughout, though each lidded basket is more worn and dirty on top (as expected). The second to largest basket (with one wide yellow splint section) has losses at one lower edge. There are other minor breaks and minute losses to the other baskets, mostly at corners.
