"Progress" Eagle Penmanship Exercise, Charles Paxton Zaner, Columbus, Ohio, 1891, depicting a large eagle in flight above a "Progress" banner, signed "WITH A PEN C.P. ZANER, COLUMBUS, IO 1891," ht. 19 1/2, wd. 25 in.

Note: C.P. Zaner (1864-1918) was an accomplished penman who founded the Zanarian Art College in Columbus, Ohio, in 1888.
