Description:

Carved Walnut Armchair, possibly North Carolina, last half 18th century, shaped crest above a carved splat with a tassel, shaped outward-scrolling arms with carved handholds, trapezoidal slip seat and conforming frame joining frontal carved cabriole legs with medallion-carved knees and ending in pad feet on tall platforms, ht. 38 1/2, seat ht. 16 1/2 in.
Estimate $800-1,200

seat is yellow pine and looks original.
