First edition in English, a translation from Claude de Seyssel's French version; folio, title page printed within elaborate woodcut compartment incorporating the arms and initials of Queen Elizabeth I; marginalia to title and occasionally throughout, including many signatures of William Dudley dated 1714; and signatures of Thomas, Richard, and John Read c. 1730, and earlier signatures of John Cosey, Robert Reynet, John Jodwett, and othersdp
; bottom corner of title neatly reinforced, bound in late 17th or early 18th century full sheepskin boards, ruled and tooled in blind, rebacked, printed on heavy paper, single column black letter throughout, Z1 and Z2 with older marginalia trimmed away from bottom margins on both leaves, and the fore-margin as well on Z1, folio number added in pen facsimile (repaired),bottom blank margin of Ll2 trimmed away; minor worming, 11 3/4 x 7 3/8 in.
