Description:

George I Sterling Silver Coffeepot, London, 1723-34, Joseph Ward, maker, lid unmarked, with a side-facing spout and a domed lid, monogrammed to underside, ht. 8 in., approx. 13.8 troy oz.

Provenance: Reportedly from the family of Lydia Pickering Lyman nee Williams (1763-1826) and formerly housed at The Vale.
Estimate $1,200-1,800

Lid lacking marks and with no interior rim to sit inside pot (lid sits well but shifts easily on body). Handle with splits to top joint and lower joint with later addition. Crude social security number etched above marks. Age-typical surface wear and a few minor dents throughout.
