Kahlil Gibran (American, 1922-2008)
The Prophet, Memorial Plaque for Kahlil Gibran (1883-1931). Stamped "K GIBRAN SC. BRONZE 656" on the lower edge, "THE METAL ARTS CO. ROCH. N.Y." on the upper edge, and "©1977 CONCORDE ASSOCIATES" on the backside. Bronze with a golden patina, 1 1/4 x 2 3/8 x 1/8 in., in the original presentation case. Condition: Inconsistencies to the patina on the back.
N.B. This small plaque is modeled after the memorial plaque to the Lebanese-born poet, philosopher, and painter that is installed in Copley Square, Boston. The artist was Gibran's godson and namesake.
