Ballet Theatre Rehearsal Break, Metropolitan Opera House, New York City [detail], Reproduced in the FortuneMagazine Article "The Boom in Ballet" (Published December 1945), October 1945. Publisher's notations, with inscriptions by the artist, and Lunn Gallery stamp on the verso. Gelatin silver print, image/sheet size 9 5/8 x 5 in. (24.3 x 12.5 cm),matted, unframed.
Condition: Subtle tonal inconsistencies, scattered minor cracks in the emulsion, sheet has been cut down, tape remnants on the verso.
Provenance: Photography dealer Harry Lunn Jr., Washington, DC, to a private Massachusetts collection.
N.B. The marks on the verso suggest that this is the actual print used for reproduction in "The Boom in Ballet" article (p. 187).
