Oakland Hill, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Reproduced in the FortuneMagazine Article "People and Places in Trouble" (Published March 1961), 1961. Printer's inscriptions, "Time, Inc." stamp, and Fortune stamp inscribed "Poverty" and "Walker Evans" on the verso, Lunn Gallery stamp on the verso. Gelatin silver print, image size 12 1/4 x 9 in. (31.0 x 22.7 cm),unmatted, unframed.
Condition: Creases/cracks primarily in corners and along bottom edge.
Provenance: Photography dealer Harry Lunn Jr., Washington, DC, to a private Massachusetts collection.
N.B. The marks on the verso suggest that this is the actual print used for reproduction in the "People and Places in Trouble" article (p. 116).
