Note: Property of R.W. Wise, Lenox, Massachusetts. R.W. Wise, goldsmiths, created many of the lots offered here. They were known for the exquisite quality of their craftsmanship, which can be seen in Lot 52, the mokume-gane ring, and for offering their clients gemstones of the highest quality, as in Lot 31, made with lapis framed by D color, VVS clarity, ideal cut diamonds. The gems were sourced by well-known connoisseur Richard W. Wise, G.G., author of the critically acclaimed book, Secrets Of The Gem Trade, The Connoisseur's Guide To Precious Gemstones. His second book, The French Blue, a historical fiction novel, offers readers a captivating account of 17th century gem merchant Jean-Baptiste Tavernier's journeys to Persia and India. Wise also offered their clients unique antique and period jewelry, and jewelry by contemporary masters Alex Sepkus, David Zoltan, and Zobel.
